Ilaveezhapoonchira

Ilaveezhapoonchira is a spacious hill valley in the Melukavu side of Kottayam district, surrounded by the hillocks of Mankunnu, Kodayathoormala and Thonippara. The elevated landscape, around 3,200 feet in parts, is valued for unobstructed sunrise and sunset views and for the sense of openness created by its grass-covered slopes. During the monsoon, rainwater can collect across the valley floor, producing the seasonal water-filled landscape connected with the place's traditional name and local legends.
