About Keralam Science and Technology Museum
Keralam Science and Technology Museum is located near PMG Junction in Thiruvananthapuram and was established in 1984 as an autonomous institution of the Government of Keralam. Its mission is to communicate science to the public and encourage scientific curiosity, especially among young visitors. The museum complex has developed galleries and interactive exhibits dealing with areas such as electricity, electronics, power and motion, mathematics, automobiles, biomedical engineering, computers and solar energy.
Demonstrations, educational programmes and science outreach activities add to its role beyond that of a conventional display museum. The Priyadarshini Planetarium, one of the complex’s best-known attractions, makes it possible to combine practical science exhibits with astronomy in a single visit. The museum is particularly suitable for families, school-age children and travellers looking for an educational indoor attraction in central Thiruvananthapuram.
Because programmes and show schedules vary, checking the official museum timetable in advance is useful, especially when planning to attend a planetarium presentation on the same day.
