Adyanpara Waterfalls

Adyanpara Waterfalls lies in Kurumbalangode village in Nilambur taluk, Malappuram district, surrounded by the lush vegetation that characterises the eastern highlands of Kerala. Kerala Tourism describes Adyanpara as a seasonal waterfall: summer flow can become low, while the monsoon transforms the rocky cascade into a much more powerful sight. The forested surroundings support varied birdlife and give the location a peaceful, nature-focused atmosphere suitable for photography and short outdoor visits.

The Adyanpara weir, built across a stream connected with the Chaliyar river system, is another point of interest in the area and links the landscape with a small hydro-electric project. Historically, the waterfall has also been promoted for trekking and bathing, but rock surfaces can be slippery and water conditions change quickly with rainfall, so visitors should follow current local safety instructions rather than assuming the water is always safe to enter. Adyanpara is easily combined with a Nilambur tourism circuit that includes the Teak Museum, Conolly's Plot and Nedumkayam.

Its strongest appeal is the contrast between flowing water, exposed rock and dense Malappuram forest scenery.
