Anamudi Shola National Park

Anamudi Shola National Park protects a small but ecologically important high-altitude forest landscape in Idukki district. Keralam Tourism describes the park as comprising the Mannavanshola, Idavarashola and Pullardishola shola patches, with southern montane wet-temperate forest, hill forest and other habitats supporting rich plant diversity. Mosses, lichens and climbers are characteristic of the cool, moisture-rich shola environment, while the park forms part of a wider protected landscape near Eravikulam, Pampadum Shola and Chinnar.

For tourism content, an important distinction is necessary: Keralam Tourism’s ecotourism page explicitly states that entry to Anamudi Shola National Park is not allowed. It should therefore not be advertised as an open trekking or casual sightseeing park. Travellers exploring Kanthalloor, Marayoor or Vattavada can appreciate the surrounding high-range landscape and learn about the park’s conservation importance without implying unauthorised access.

Any future permitted visitor programme should be confirmed directly with the Forest Department before travel, as protected-area rules can change.
