Durbar Hall Art Gallery occupies the historic Durbar Hall building near the centre of Ernakulam, Keralam. The hall takes its name from its earlier association with the Rajas of Cochin, who used the site for durbars, while the surrounding grounds have long hosted civic, cultural and public events. The building later served several institutional purposes before becoming closely associated with the Keralam Lalithakala Akademi and contemporary art exhibitions.
Keralam Tourism notes the structure’s Dutch-influenced exterior, verandah, marble flooring and long history, alongside its role as a gallery displaying works by established and contemporary artists.
