Nilambur Hanging Bridge

Nilambur Hanging Bridge is a pedestrian suspension bridge across the Chaliyar River near Nilambur town in Malappuram district, Kerala. DTPC Malappuram states that the bridge is around 2.5 km from Nilambur, measures approximately 142 metres in length and 1.2 metres in width, and was constructed in 2008. It forms an important visitor approach toward Conolly’s Plot, the historic teak plantation associated with Nilambur’s forestry heritage.

Kerala Tourism also highlights the suspension bridge as part of the Nilambur ecotourism experience. Walking across gives visitors open views of the river and surrounding greenery, while the natural movement of a suspension structure adds to the experience. The bridge is best enjoyed together with Conolly’s Plot, the Teak Museum and other Nilambur attractions.

Visitors should follow posted capacity and safety instructions, particularly during heavy rain or periods of high river flow.
