Nilambur Teak Museum

Nilambur Teak Museum is located at the Kerala Forest Research Institute sub-centre at Chandakkunnu, near Nilambur in Malappuram district. Opened in 1995, the museum was created to explain the history, cultivation, management, ecology and uses of teak, a tree closely associated with Nilambur's forestry heritage. Kerala Tourism describes it as the first museum of its kind in the world.

Visitors encounter an impressive teak root system at the entrance and a wide range of exhibits covering traditional and scientific aspects of the species.
