Vettakkorumakan Temple, Nilambur

Vettakkorumakan Temple is a revered shrine in Nilambur, the forested eastern part of Malappuram district. Kerala Tourism describes the temple as dedicated to Vettakkorumakan, a deity associated with the Kirata form of Shiva’s son, and highlights its close relationship with the cultural traditions of Nilambur Kovilakam. The temple is best known for the six-day Nilambur Pattu Utsavam, held in the Malayalam month of Dhanu, generally around January.
