Attukal Bhagavathy Temple

Attukal Bhagavathy Temple is a major Hindu pilgrimage centre in Attukal, close to the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city in Keralam. The presiding deity is Goddess Bhadrakali, also associated with Kannaki traditions. The temple is internationally known for Attukal Pongala, when a vast congregation of women prepares a ritual offering in earthen pots across streets surrounding the shrine; the festival has been recognised by Guinness World Records for the scale of women’s participation.
