Dhoni Hills and Waterfalls

Dhoni Hills and Waterfalls is a nature and trekking destination a short distance from Palakkad city, set within the green reserve-forest landscape around Dhoni. Kerala Tourism describes the route from the hill base to the forest and waterfall as roughly a three-hour trek, making the journey itself the main visitor experience. The trail passes through wooded slopes and increasingly cool, misty surroundings, with the waterfall becoming more energetic after the monsoon rains.

Wildlife occurs in the wider forest, so this is not an unrestricted picnic trail: entry and trekking are regulated, and prior permission from the Forest Department may be required. Visitors should therefore confirm the current programme, guide arrangements and weather conditions before travelling. Dhoni is particularly suitable for people who want an active outdoor experience close to Palakkad rather than a drive-up viewpoint.
