Kottankulangara Sree Bhagavathy Temple

Kottankulangara Sree Bhagavathy Temple is a well-known Devi shrine at Kottankulangara in Chavara, Kollam district, Kerala. Its most celebrated tradition is Chamayavilakku, a festival in which male devotees dress in women's attire, often with elaborate make-up and jewellery, and carry lamps as an offering to the Goddess. The observance draws large numbers of devotees and visitors because of its distinctive expression of faith and local culture.
