Panmana Ashramam

Panmana Ashramam is a spiritual and educational centre in Panmana, Kollam district, Kerala, closely associated with the legacy of the philosopher and social reformer Chattambi Swamikal. DTPC Kollam records that the ashram was established through the efforts of Kumbalathu Sanku Pillai, a freedom fighter and devotee, and grew into a centre for pilgrimage, learning and service. Its intellectual and spiritual activities have included Sanskrit, Ayurveda, Vedic and Puranic studies and yoga.

The site also carries a connection with Mahatma Gandhi, who is recorded as having spent two days here in meditation and prayer. Visitors come for the serene atmosphere, reformist heritage and the opportunity to understand an important stream of Kerala's modern spiritual history.
