Shakthan Thampuran Palace

Shakthan Thampuran Palace, also known historically as Vadakkechira Kovilakam, is a major heritage attraction in Thrissur city, Kerala. The palace is closely associated with Rama Varma Shakthan Thampuran, the powerful ruler whose reign is often described as a formative period in modern Thrissur. Government and Kerala Tourism sources note that the palace was reconstructed in 1795 and combines Kerala and Dutch architectural influences.
