Thalassery Heritage Town

Thalassery, historically known as Tellicherry, is one of Kannur district's most important heritage towns and a key cultural destination on Kerala's Malabar Coast. For centuries the town was shaped by maritime trade, local rulers and European commercial powers, leaving a dense mix of architecture, religious sites and trading history. Kerala Tourism highlights Thalassery's special place in Kerala's cricket story as well as its celebrated culinary traditions, especially cakes, bakeries and biryani.

Major landmarks include Thalassery Fort, built by the English East India Company in 1708, the historic pier extending towards the Arabian Sea, Thazhe Angadi heritage street, Odathil Palli and St. John's Anglican Church.
