Varkala Beach (Papanasam)

Varkala Beach, also known as Papanasam Beach, is the best-known seafront attraction in Varkala, Thiruvananthapuram district. The beach sits beneath the striking laterite cliffs that define this stretch of Keralam’s Arabian Sea coast, creating a setting unlike most flat coastal beaches in the state.
