About Vattathil Thangal Waterfalls
Vattathil Thangal Waterfalls is located at Kalladathanni near Poredom in Kollam district, Kerala, within Kottarakkara taluk. DTPC Kollam identifies the cascade as part of the Ithikkara River and notes that it lies about 10 kilometres from Parippally. The final approach includes a walk of roughly 200 metres through a rubber-estate setting, adding a small countryside trail to the visit.
Rather than a large commercial attraction, Vattathil Thangal is appreciated for flowing water over natural rock, surrounding vegetation and the calm rural character of the Poredom-Kalladathanni area. It can fit well into an offbeat Kollam itinerary focused on waterfalls, village landscapes and short nature walks. As with other seasonal water attractions in Kerala, flow and footing can change considerably during rains, so visitors should avoid unsafe rocks, respect private or plantation access boundaries and follow local safety instructions.
