Oliyarik (Erappu) Waterfalls

Oliyarik or Erappu Waterfalls is situated in Anchal in the eastern part of Kollam district, Keralam. DTPC Kollam records both names for the attraction and explains that 'Erappu' refers to the noise made by the water as it falls. One of the site's notable features is its continuing flow even during summer, giving the cascade a different character from waterfalls that are strongly seasonal.

The surrounding vegetation, rocks and a large banyan tree add to the natural atmosphere. For travellers exploring Anchal, Punalur and the hillier side of Kollam, the waterfall provides a compact nature break that can be combined with other nearby countryside attractions. It is best enjoyed as a scenic local spot rather than as a heavily developed recreation area.

Visitors should take normal waterfall precautions, especially after rain, when rocks can be slippery and water levels can rise quickly.
